Higgers, it's not a heat exchanger, it's just a baffle.

Zag - the helsport has the same set up but the "hat" is better designed. you can open one side or the other with cords which hang down inside. two each side, one to pull out, one to pull in and you use that one to snug it round the baffle. In heavy rain a small amount of water can come through the gap between chimney and baffle but if the fires on it vaporises anyway.

The tentipi is the same regarding the cords that lift the cap - mine is anyway.

What size of Tentipi are you guys using?. Thinking of getting one, need to sleep 2 adults and an 8 year old.

Hi I use the 7 man - Sleeps 2 with comfort - there would be room for a child but not with a fire and equipment all inside. Plenty of room for summer camping for three but not winter camping.
The 9 man would be easier but it is a lot bigger - best to try and see one in operation at one of the landy shows this year.

As we know, a 9 man tentipi will fit 13 adults sitting in camp chairs and a stove all inside out of the rain Thumbs Up

Thanks for info. Was looking at a 7 man as the 9 man looks huge. Will try and get to some shows this year. Saw a 5man in Keswick over the weekend looked a great bit of kit.

Boode did you do the Northern Lights trip this year. How did the tipi perform?.
