I will get the camera out at the weekend, we have a converted sectional bolt together garage for them, luxury insulated and everything. We call it Cluckingham Palace, they even have and no kidding a portcullis to let them out from the dry run to a grass run area. Very very spoilt birds.
We have 3 Buff Sussex (the strictly dancing girls) We have and ex free range barn bird the last one left from 4 we got from Birmingham 3 xmases ago and 2 ex battery birds collected this xmas Duracell and Optima (do you see what we did there ) If everything is under control you are not going fast enough. I made mine out of half a dozen old pallets. Removable front, 2 perches, ramp/door combination for hens to get in, and 3 nest boxes on rear with opening lid to get to eggs. Dogs/fox finally killed off the last of my hens a few years back and not replaced them yet!

We have a shed I think 6" x 5" roughly on concrete blocks. Surrounded by my own design electric fencing ALWAYS keeps the fox out even if they are left out by accident. The birds also never dare to challenge it so all in all a success. Only trouble is the rat's love it Well accept for whn the feeder at night is electrified also so they don't touch it then

6x5 inches...... Have you got micro-chickens? I might have to report you to the RSPB. Or do you grow the little chicks that are sold at Easter? Click image to enlarge Glyn |
