What the f@ck does he want to make? A bloody Nissan Juke??? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Sorry but they went bust a few years ago when Iveco pulled the plug on their joint venture due to poor sales...

But as the threads here and elsewhere have highlighted that Jeep are doing ok and not c******g on their heritage.

How exactly can something be less of a homage to the Defender than the DC100 already is? Let's see what things they share in common and, thus, could be altered (ignoring reg mandated things like headlights):

They both have four wheels

They both have some form of 4wd

They can possibly have a white roof

They both have an engine

They both have relatively large wheels

They both have bigger ground clearance than a normal car

They both can carry a spare wheel on the back door

They both have relatively short overhangs

With all that in mind, I think this is what the Defender replacement is going to look like:

Don't get me wrong, if the new Defender looked like that, I'd be queuing up for it!

Actually, in fairness to Gerry, I think the segmentation between Range Rover (luxury/'premium' — a term I hate), Disco/Freelander (lifestyle) and Defender (utility) is the right one, and would clarify LR's offering. As long as that really is the segmentation! But the Defender should then be clearly utility, not lifestyle — or a lifestyle where shoes get dirty Smile

Doesn't mean it couldn't feel more like a continuation of an icon, though.

He's done that, its called the Evoque Laughing

Perhaps he's looking for a hairdresser's 21st century SUV etc. Or (more seriously) a rival to the Mitsubishi L200, which is often cited as being more car-like to drive. Cue a LWB DC1?0, as the pickup/truck cab version to supercede 110s, eventually. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

He has actually said the square route of Censored all!, It will be more radical than the dc100 and even less homage to the traditional design.

So in summary, they need to sell more, it will look even less like a defender, and even more futuristic than the Dc100....LOVE IT Thumbs Up

Ive seen the mock up as well Whistle You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things
