I'm trying to ascertain what the rear springs are in my 110 7 seater.
The springs fitted are black and I can't see any paint stripes. Does anyone know what they are? I know the standard front ones are identical to the left hand front on a Td5/Tdi/County. Also the 5 seater and 7 seater here have what looks like the same rear springs. I'm presently 10,000km through a 30-40,000km trip with a 1.5t trailer in tow and I think the springs will probably not last the distance and would like to put a heavier set in place (or might got to airbag inserts). Any advice would be helpful. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |

Hi dm, I also tow heavy all the time and iv'e put the heaviest springs you can get and it still sags
The best way to eliminate this is to put spring assistors on. hope this helps http://www.springassisters.co.uk/Rubber%20Ass%20Page.htm NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

I can do better than OME's. I have King Coils in my Tdi Defender and they are very heavy, much stiffer than the OME or OEM one's. At this stage though I'd try and stick with OEM springs because for some reason they are actually about the cheapest to buy in Australia.
Looked at several Puma's today at the dealers and like mine we couldn't find any paint codes on the springs. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |

dm,
I would go with new harder spings- they really are the best option. Maybe even get hold of LR HD ones- I have never had any problems with these in the Wolfs towing a 1 3/4 ton trailer. Be carefull with spring assisters. They do put excess stress on the rest of the spring (whee the assister isn't) and over time and rough terrain they do cause the spring to snap. Not too bad if you are driving smooth highways with a pikeyvan all the time though. I haven't eperienced the assister airbags though so wouldn't know. Glyn |

I've got the 130 dual springs in my 110 CSW. they're great!
my 110 isn't the lightest... HD chassis, full external cage and usually carrying all the off road junk one carries, but the springs give a lovely ride, not the harshness of a single HD spring, it's much more progressive. I've got the standard HD 110 outer spring, and the 130 inner. i have dual rear shocks too, but only stick the second set on if i'm loaded right up as it then does get a bit stiff. At the dealers today and we they'd just got a new Puma in whch had what looked like paint marker brown/purple marks on the springs. This makes them RKB101111 which are a progressive 270-420 lb/in. Also the dealer's Microcat lists them as the same springs on all 110 models.
I'll see how things go as I can't get helper spring mounts in Australia at present unless I can find someone with stock. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |

Yeah, that's the springs, had them on my old 110. i swapped them out for some "HD" earlier ones and the ride height and comfort was exactly the same!
I picked up the 130" springs and mounts on ebay (just had a look but none showing at the moment) but i would pay to keep an eye on there. |

I've bought a set of the assister springs as fitted to the 130's. Unfortunately my 110 has been off the road for the last few weeks so I haven't had a chance to fit them yet. I got mine from a company called axletwister 4x4. can't wait to get them fitted as my tow bar is forever hitting the ground when I'm offroad. I'm hoping they'll do the trick on their own without having to fit a pair of new standard springs too.
