STOLEN Autohome Airtop rooftent
An Autohome Airtop rooftent was stolen last night in West Yorkshire.

The Airtop has a white shell with grey/carbon fabric. The Airtop was stolen by using a bolt cutter to cut through the U bolts.

There are a couple of distinctive features about this rooftent.

So if you hear about a roof tent going cheap please let me know. Pease keep an eye out on sites like ebay etc.

It is believed that the thieves thought they were stealing a large roofbox rather then targeting rooftents.

In the last few years it is believed that only 3 Autohome tents have been stolen so it is not a regular occurrance.

What's the insurance situation with these? Should you just inform your car insurer and get it covered on the car policy?

Hope the stolen one gets found, thieving scum.

Not too sure but I would have thought that it was most likely best covered on contents insurance like push bikes but all risks for being off the premises. If this is the case, then it is probably as well to get it itemised on the policy as a high value item.

However the cynic in me thinks every insurer will try and weasel out of it and say it should be covered on a different sort of policy with another company.
