LED bulbs
Hi,

I was thinking about changing to LED bulbs. Anyone who did that already can tell me if white LEDs behind coloured plastic give the desired colour or does the break light come out pinkish and the indicator yellowish? Any experience with particular LED bulbs, like the number of LEDs per bulb, how do superbright look like?

Last question, as I was looking on pages in the UK to order, they use number coding while my spanish manual uses letters. Anyone who has a list that shows the correct numbers. In particular I am not sure about the side indicators and the number plate.

Thanks in advance for your help
Oskar

I was primarily thinking about front and rear lights.

there's quite a few companies selling LEDs, I use ULTRALEDS.co.uk, I've had mine for years in various trucks. if you are going to fit indicators, you can get yellow/amber ones but you will be best fitting load resistors rather than a LED indicator relay as you may tow a trailer or caravan.

My 90 has tail/stops, side lights but not indicators yet

Perfect, thanks. Do you use white behind the coloured plastic or coloured LEDs with white plastic? I want to use the coloured plastic with white LEDs but I am not sure how the colour turns out.

the amber and red leds are usually clear until they are lit, so if you have clear/white lenses, they will be fine.

IF you go the LED bulb route think before you buy as LEDS sort of project light in a different way to filament bulbs so unless some leds point towards the reflector in the unit you will not have proper lighting

Absolutely Ken, the stop/tails on ultraleds have leds all the way around, I have had a few trucks mot'd with these led bulbs and no problem, ever white/led front sidelights
