Amber warning light
Another silly question from me Embarassed

I have bought this Puma 110sw 2008 that have been beaten up by the previous owner (or the customers of this Spanish car renting company I bought it from).

I have never own a car that have any computer or electronic systems. (My previous car was OneTen hardtop 1986 no turbo – pretty low-tech Smile

Today while driving the amber warning light start illuminate. The manual inform me that I shall ''avoid high speeds and seek qualified assistance urgently.''

My question is what is qualified assistance? Will any random garage do or shall I drive 50 miles for a specialised Land Rover garage Confused

I have had mine today too. Chances are you'll find it'll go off after a few trips. Probably the **** EGR Rolling Eyes

Buy yourself a cheap EOBD code reader [£25 - £40 on e bay] and read the codes .. probably just EGR related info logged on there.

You can also reset the light and clear codes with the reader .... then see if it comes back on, how long etc, and what codes again .. Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Your amber warning light is there to tell you something is amiss. It could be something like your EGR not working. I only had it on once and it was a sensor in the fuel system. It is probably something simple but you are better getting it checked out. If you cannot do it yourself you will have to go to a dealer with the diagnostic equipment to check it out. No doubt they will charge you handsomely for the priviledge. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Yes definately! I get it occasionally especially when the air is cold. It will reset automatically after a few driving cycles. I will always check and reset with the Scangauge though as when it is on it could theoretically mask another problem. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

If the DTC fails to reoccur after three ignition cycles (passes three test cycles without reoccurring) the MIL lamp will go out and a tested DTC will be logged in the ECM. Thumbs Up

Yes, that's true. I've had intermittent warning light on but there is nothing wrong driving idling ect all perfect then dissapears I've got the standard filter so not that. Late last year whe I first had it had the AA out to check it and he said it was an EGR code so the code was just sleared and put on paper at the time. I seem to get it after starting and then booting it on the main road when cold. But there is no loss of power or anything at all.
