United Kingdom 2002 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Epsom Green
Central Locking and Alarm Questions
Hi Guys,

Having just got my new toy (Td5 90) I'd like to keep hold of it! Seeing the rather alarming amount of entries in the Stolen forum on various websites I thought it would be a good idea to get an alarm.

I'm thinking of getting a thatcham approved alarm fitted and in the process fitting remote central locking.

Has anyone retrofitted central locking to a defender? I'm not overly bothered about the rear door but I would like to be able to unlock both front doors at once! Has anyone got any reccomended kits to do it? I was hoping that if I got the central locking sorted I could do the remote bit when I get the alarm done!

Look forward to hearing your replies!

Thanks

Thumbs Up

Haven't got the part numbers to hand, but Maplin sell a kit for fitting central locking that consists of motors, wiring and various brackets. There are master and slave kits for the main and secondary doors. Darren

Genuine electric window units come up cheap on ebay. Then get a Td5 bulkhead loom with electric window wiring and extract wires for the windows and retrofit into your loom. Simples !
Better than fitting a kit which wasnt designed for the defender.
