Entreq Aluminium Bumper.
Just been on Olaf's website and seen something else I now need. Big Cry

I am currently on my 3rd bumper from LR and this one is now starting to rust on the inside. This bumper from Entreq is made from 6mm aluminium and looks as if it is reinforced on the inside to give it more strength. Also in the pictures it goes well with my new steering guard so it looks like I will need to get one now. Here are some pics of the new bumper (Hope Entreq don't mind),

Looks cool Cool I wonder how a GB number plate would look on it though, it may be bigger than the bumper top to bottom (difficult to see from the picture!). A number plate holder would go some way to sorting it if it is bigger! or a can of ACF-50 Whistle

Devon 4x4 also do a nice standard looking heavy duty job....

Is the number plate not bigger than a standard bumper anyway?

It looks like its wide enough to fit over the chassis rails like the standard one is. Russell

is it legal to put your number plate in the recess where the front vents used to go ?

I've seen them there, up, out of harms way ?

I'm not entirely sure. However it is on display but inside the windscreen is no good though. D44 also do number plate fixings if I remember correctly but they might be for their own bumper / for a winch.

Yes Russ your right the number plate does overlap by about 1cm on the standard bumper and the Entreq one does fit the same....Still waiting to order a holder for mine it's on the fantasy list Laughing

I thought that, much as its a lovely bit of engineering ... its a fricking bumper ffs to protect the bodywork and be cheap to replace - or am i missing the point?

But, I suppose as long as there are people that can justify or afford such frivolities someone will support them.

To me though, Defenders start to lose the endearing timeless rugged appeal when they are adorned with such luxuriant accessories! Each to their own Thumbs Up 2005 TD5 90 Hard Top

Agree!!! Thumbs Up Especially when you can get an almost identical heavy duty one made of 5mm steel for less than a third of the cost. Whistle

Who cares? No need to apologise....Sensibility must prevail here, be interested to hear what the solution would be. Bumper is for me to protect the vehicle not the £320 worth of extras. Whistle If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

So that costs 22 x as much as a "normal" galv bumper. Does it last 22 x longer?

A bit of rust is fine, get over it. Scratches remind you of an event, a "near miss" "that time when we dragged an Argo out of a bog". It makes it your Defender. Being battered tells it's story, it seperates it from being just a mode of transport.

If your Land Rover is in showroom condition, it's boring. It's just a car. Which is probably fine if your an insurance salesman. Good things come to the wild and free

I wouldn't worry about Mal's spotlights taking the brunt of a crash - having seen the Lightforce shotgun video it would just be a case of pointing them in the right direction again and all would be well! Very Happy

My bumper went rusty after six months and I went for the Devon equivalent (plus two serious recovery points too) and several years later am still very happy with it. Thumbs Up Peter
