Im tempted already Very Happy So would it also play music from other 'non iphone' phones such as my Galaxy S2?

Depends. Samsung seem to have good compatibility! It may work by bluetooth streaming (if you had bluetooth add on) Failing that with phone with a memory card and set to mass storage mode the head unit should read files direct from phones memory card if connected with USB cable. There is a USB input cable a 3.5mm audi input and a 3.5mm video input along with RCA inputs and outputs also. Mine has a seperate control unit under the drivers seat (the kvt 729) but the newer ones kvt 526 are self contained.

killer, an amp would be good to help overcome the engine/road noise. Does this mean I need an amp connection? Would blutooth be useful to stream music from my phone?

I think you can stream music by bluetooth with some but not all are compatable I doubt. Amp wise you can either set up and amp and sub yourself but an easier option maybe something like this an active sub: http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/ksc-sw01-speaker
@killer cassette Rolling with laughter Ain't you got no 1980's ones? Rolling with laughter

Hi Kona, where have you located this sub please? thanks Thumbs Up

Hello Nidge,
I don't actually own one of these subs but on paper it looks great! Personally I would be thinking of mounting on the rear of the cubby box on a 90 maybe underseat if it fitted? In a 110 there is even more options. All details of parts ect can be found here:
http://images.kenwood.eu/files/prod/1677/5/KSC-SW01(EN).pdf
And purchasable from here: http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/ksc-sw01-speaker
Free 1year warrenty with free delivery also. Used them before a helpful and reliable company. Thumbs Up
If anyone happens to buy one please let me know how you get on? I'd be interested myself in one. Thumbs Up

Steve

Hi Warpig the best way forward is to go DAB for your head unit there are many on the market but a few stand out and don't break the bank too the latest out is the CDX-DAB700U I have the older model to this 8 years older and they never needed to replace that version every year like iphone do so it will last you for many years to come and still work when they switch off the FM in 2015 so they say

• DAB/DAB+/DMB-R and FM/AM radio reception
• Includes easy-fit high-sensitivity DAB antenna
• Digital Clarity Tuner expands stereo reception area
• Front USB input for iPod® /iPhone®/Walkman® connection
• Automatic Level Optimiser adjusts for playback volume level changes between different music sources
• SensMe™ creates themed music channels to suit your mood
• Dynamic Reality Amp with 4x 52W high power output
The head unit’s front panel flips down to reveal the CD loading slot. As an extra refinement, panel illumination can be selected from 35,000 colours to coordinate with your vehicle’s interior.
clear digital music from other devices via the convenient front-mounted USB input. Hook up your iPod®/iPhone® or Walkman®, or connect a USB flash drive loaded with your favourite MP3 tracks. There’s also a standard 3.5mm jack socket for connecting MP3 players or other devices.
The Sony DAB700U receiver comes supplied with a compact, highly sensitive DAB antenna that adheres discreetly inside the car windscreen to offer excellent signal reception, the powerful adhesive film allows quick, easy installation, with no need to drill holes or make other modifications to your vehicle.
3 pre outs at the back for amps and sub woofer too
the only place i can find this model at the moment is at Halfords £199 but it will be on ebay somewhere soon cheaper
