Bateson might not hold value so well, but are a lot cheaper secondhand when someone else has taken the hit

T1G
It's a strong case of buyer beware when it comes to looking at used trailers. I have always bought new for peace of mind and always had Ifors as I think they work hand in hand with Land Rover in terms of development. I currently use a double axle 8x4 for general duties and a 16x6 triple axle for larger loads. Both are great for the jobs they do and never had issues with either. When looking make sure the vin and serial numbers are on the draw bar and check to see if it is on TER (all Ifors are) to check authenticity. If you do buy make sure everything works so as to not give the boys reason- a well maintained trailer attracts less attention. The breakaway cable must be fitted and in good order or it's a simple 3 points. Shame you need to carry cars or mine would have been perfect. Good luck and if it seems too good to be true walk away ![]() |

Or lack of development, the defender has hardly been at the forefront for development same can be said for trailers |

Well it looks like all the ID tags a there so you could give ifor a call to check the detail. Interesting that the photos are not all taken at the same time ![]() ![]() 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

Marcus, top tip. Don't bother trying to find a cheap deal on Ifor trailers. I spent ages and they all go for nearly new money. Save yourself the hassle and worry of buying stolen and get a new one. I gave up after 18 mths and just went and cut a deal with the local Ifor dealer

I sincerely recommend these guys: http://www.ktrailers.co.uk/car-trailers.html
Eight years ago, I also did the search for a good 2nd hand sturdy trailer (not one of these flimsy things sold at B&Q/Halfrauds), and did look at good quality 2nd hand...but as you say - hard to find a good one at a decent price. K-Trailers actually made mine for me (built to order) - took about 10 days. Very sturdy, well galvanized, it's still like new after 8 years. Prices are very reasonable, and worked out cheaper than a decent 2nd hand IforWilliams. Really nice people, ran an apprentice scheme, just nice to deal with, and great value ![]() |
