easiest thing to do rather than replace the whole dash is to buy a mud console, gives you the space tp put all your switches, radio etc in plus makes it look like a later dash version.

Hi Discocuzzy
While I like the idea of the mud console I am not to keen on the look (please don't take offense..this is just a personal opinion!) I really do want to go the Td5 dash route. Does anyone have any contact details for the reedx.net guy? He doesn't seem to have a email address on the site?! Seems like the way to go but it would appear that the company where he brought his connectors from the is now in liquidation! (Just my luck!). Anyone got any bright ideas / contacts that might be able to help? Regards Rob |

the cheapest way i found of doing it was to buy a complete td5 bulkhead and just change either the whole lot or move the bits over - £150. but then my bulkhead was old and needed doing anyway. Cheers

I bought all the parts to do the dash change-over on my '98, then after fully realising how much work was involved, I sold them on!
Unless you have lots of spare time (and a garage in this weather), and are good with electrics - I'd say go with the Mud console - I should have done... |

Hi Rob Someone let me know you were trying to get in contact, so I thought I'd try and answer your questions here. I didn't realise Heart Electronics had gone into liquidation. If you can't find the correct coloured plugs the following will fit if you carefully cut the keyway off. Bit more pricey though! http://shop.dingocroft.co.uk/acatalog/Elec...#aZZPLUG01 I talked to someone a while ago who'd converted his TD5 to the 2002 dash and he said it was pretty straightforward compared to doing the earlier models. Good luck with the conversion and please feedback anything you feel may be useful to others and I'll put it on the site. My contact email address is on the "Feedback" section of the 2002 Dash pages. Though I do take your point and will add a proper website contact feedback page asap. I'm rewriting the 2002 Dash pages to bring them into line with the new format of the site. There is a lot more information to be added - mostly from the excellent posts on this subject by Paul McConnell. Regards Colin www.reedx.net |
