What about that "dry shampoo" used by OAPs Laughing Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Use a hose on my precious Shocked She has never been mistreated nor will she ever be in such a manner.....a nice clean bucket with a baby soft cloth only for my girl Whistle Using a hose on her in my mind would be akin to spanking her with a rubber hose S&M style Shocked but then that's just my mind Laughing

Right I'm off down the jet wash to do her bottom before it's banned Whistle

Laughing It's only ever had 3 bucket washes in it's life as it never gets dirty enough Very Happy

OK I'll be up front about this Shocked As I say It's only ever had 3 washes in it's life with a bucket and 4 pressure washes for the underside. It only ever gets driven around town mostly so never gets dirty just sort of dusty so a quick wipe down with a few wet cloths then just buff it up or polish it. When it rains I ALWAYS wipe it down with a few cloths so it's dry in the garage. I clean it at least 3 times a week same with the wheels. It was the same regime with my old classic cars but not 3 times a week Rolling Eyes they would only come out 2 or 3 times a month during the summer.

Thank you every one I feel so much better I have finally opened up to you about my obsession, I'm not in denial anymore, I feel cleansed Laughing I have unloaded my heavy burden Rolling with laughter I can now move on with my life, just need to nip into the garage for a moment Whistle LOVE IT, she's SHINY & MINT Laughing

My old TD5 was lucky to get a hose down 3-4 times a year, I used to leave it because Defenders look good with a bit of muck sprayed up the wheel arch sides Wink The TDCI is very special to me because it's new and I shouldn't really have one, it's way out of my league, you only ever need to spend 5K on a car not 28K CRAZY Shocked I will never buy a new car again it's waste of money but I would mine again Wink I have dreamt for years about owning a new one, still can't believe it's mine but making a 10K profit out of the Jag made it possible and more importantly justifiable Very Happy Thumbs Up

Whats it like up in London or Essex, no hose pipe bans up there Twisted Evil Whistle

Zag, I guess from another thread (talking about tents I think) that you may be in Scotland at some point in the future.

You're welcome to pop by for a cuppa and use of the pressure washer Thumbs Up

After the Beauly to Denny Power lines ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotlan...860343.stm
) - maybe next plan will be an aquaduct to carry fresh water from the North to south of UK... Laughing

Oh - it's already being debated http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-17078727
Thumbs Up

The North could be the new power-house of green energy and water for the UK Whistle Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Cheers Martin, I am desperate to get up to Scotland and hoping next year will be possible. The plan would be to bring the boat up for a few sails via Conniston water, Oban, Loch Lomond and Loch Ness and somewhere else on the west coast, not sure where though. I can sleep in the Defender or boat if it's on land (laybys are cheap Very Happy ) or the water but I'd like to get right up to Durness and spend a week camping/walking up their so leave the boat somewhere further south. It's a wide hefty lump at about 2 1/4 tonnes and on the maximum as a practical trailer sailor but do-able Very Happy If it is too much I'll bring a Kayak up instead!

Whether the kids and wife would come is doubtful Whistle Wink Very Happy It would be nice just to have a break and explore on my own without the aggro Sad AND MESS in my motor Laughing

Well after giving it much cogitation, my deliberations and contemplation on the subject after examining and reflecting on my reviewed scrutiny of the study of dry corrosion and decomposition of disintegrating, decaying, perished matter is that it doesn't effect ferrous materials BUT can affect my liver which will be in danger of perishing in dryness unless I get a beer in it quick Wink

I have to admit I'm a bit like Zag when it comes to being 'analy clean' - I'm not so into the bleaching thing as he probably is though Laughing I do get my beast dirty, but when I clean it I go to town and at 7-8 years old it still comes up like its just left the showroom.. including the tiny bits of sprayed over weld splatter on the cappings, cant beat handcrafted Rolling Eyes 2005 TD5 90 Hard Top
