High-end TPMS for your Defender and/or Trailer by Comatra
Hi guys, you might have spotted our home-made banner.. Smile So here is the official introduction of the Comatra TPMS systems (topic on camera systems is in the pipeline)

OK, first things first ; a brief history on the Comatra TPMS systems :

The first generation of Comatra TPMS systems launched in 2009, has been tested extensively (real life, not just on a bench) to the extremes ( we have a customer still using a first gen on a Porsche GT3 that he uses to tear up the Nordschleife sometimes clearing all 4 wheels from the ground, and reaching speeds up to 290km/h)

Second generation introduced around 2010, had the unique adjustable valve angle, allowing the sensor to fit perfectly on 95% of all rim types.

Late 2011 - now , 3rd generation which features a much higher cold pressure capability (7bar-101psi), up to 8 sensors per single monitor (configurations here below) and improved / faster data acquisition, even when used in combination with metal bumpers etc...

Configurations and Prices:
Since we do not have an official dealer for the UK, yet, you can still buy the kits directly from us. (End-user prices in Eur. excl VAT and shipping starting from 176,00 Euro for a 4 wheel kit -trailer or vehicle-)

Vehicle :
• 4 wheels
• 4+1(spare tire)
• 6 wheels
(6 wheels is not really applicable for defender, however I've seen some 6x6 defenders out there)
Trailer :
• 2 wheels
• 4 wheels
• 6 wheels
Vehicle/Trailer combo
• 4+2 (1 monitor)
• 4+4 (1 monitor)
• 4+2 (2 monitors)
• 4+4 (2 monitors)
• 4+6 (2 monitors)

Key Features
- Works on all car makes and trailers that have - ETRTO -11.5mm rim holes
- Constantly monitors the actual pressure and temperature inside the tire.
- Cold inflation pressure from 1.7 up to 7 bar - 101 psi
- Pre-programmed sensors, just install in correct order, plug the monitor in a 12-24V cigar jack (dashboard cradle included as well) and you're good to go. All other adjustments (set pressures etc) can be done through the user-friendly interface. Installation takes about 10-15min per wheel, does require a professional to install.
- No vehicle restrictions in regards to the trailer : when using another vehicle to tow the trailer, just take out the monitor and plug it into the towing vehicle.
- Audio-visual warning in case of : underpressure, overpressure, sudden loss of pressure, slow leak, high temperature and weak signal or battery almost dead.
- Works fine with metal bumpers, should you experience a bad reception we do have a repeater/signal booster but have not used/sold one since 2009.

Not really features but things that make the system more user friendly :
- adjustable backlight colors ( green, blue, orange)
- adjustable warning levels
- everything included in the package (cigar-jack, dashboard cradle, wiring)
- VERY fast signal capture under 2min. (other systems require speed of 20km/h to start transmission)
- Easy tire rotation without reprogramming the sensor-ID's.

Hey Eric,

I'm just installing my monitor back into the defender, had to take it out this morning to take some pics, I trust you received them well Wink

After doing that, I'll start cracking on a new topic dedicated to the camera monitor solutions for Defenders. Smile

ATB!

Just checked e-mail now. All well received. The 2 cameras each look well integrated and aesthetic solutions for a Defender. The pictures about the monitor locations (I do have a cubby box, so only option 2 would work) do not convince me. Anyway, looking forward to see you starting a thread about this.

Ciao, Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
