But the scum who prey on offroaders like Land Rovers and Range Rovers can look on the forum, see where you are based, how much kit you have bolted to your car, learn about your house and surrounding area from your pictures, look on Google maps and the streetview to case the joint, all from the comfort of their scum-hole of a house.

Then, they come out, watch your movements and nick your car or, use the number plates to cover up a ringed or stolen one they have.

This forum basically tells them all they could ever want or need, throw in your numberplate and you've got Christmas. Why make it easy for them?

That's a lot of effort for a Landy given they might have to drive 100's of miles to get it.

I suspect we give these retards too much credit and in reality they drive about their local area, find a Landy on their travels and pinch it when it suits them i.e any time other than when they are claiming the social.

A further supporting fact is that whenever I have seen these gypsie type programs on TV I have never seen a computer in sight, ergo gypsie's don't use the internet and are not interested in forums, simples Very Happy Nick

Not finished yet, but tomorrow should have it done, by all accounts.

Are you having any bars/tubes inside the vehicle?

Do you loose internal load space?

Fancy one of these but have no spare room.

That's an incredibly naive view, of course they have the internet, the minimum they need is a smartphone (which they probably stole). Each to their own, if you want to advertise your plate and everything else they need go ahead but I think I shall be giving them all the credit they deserve. Have you not read any of the posts about stolen Landies and how incredulously bare faced they can be?

Part of my post was clearly sarcasm hence the smily face Confused

I've had read loads of stolen Landy post's, I have also worked in the trade and know only too well what goes on. I still stand by my comments that it is not people surfing the web that you need to be mindful of but people who are out and about keeping a observational eye on who has what and where and of course your friendly local dealer network.

Landies as you know are a very easy target, thieves don't need to go to the effort of scanning the internet, reading number plates, working out locations and assessing what is a viable Defender to take. The Defenders they want are plentiful, generally right in front of their noses, in plain view in streets and car parks, with little to no security and are a gift waiting to be taken.

Thanks for the good luck Thumbs Up my luck is beefed up with a Trackstar tracker, Meck lock and the arm of a JCB digger trapping it, it's also in France. Censored ! I've done it now, they will be searching all the barns in France for my Landy now Shocked Nick

Hi Andy, It is a bulkheadless rear tub so the internal hoop will join on to a bulkhead removal bar and therefore shouldn't really impinge on space much at all.

The hoop should (hopefully) come in a few centimetres behind the back of the seats. As neither of us are very long legged the seats are not too far back, and we have them reasonably upright so we shouldn't notice any restriction in seat movement there.

For extra strength I'm also having a cross in the internal hoop but this will be removable, so in everyday use I'll have the easy access to the rear load space that not having the bulkhead gives you, but when we go on expedition / off road the cross will go in along with a mesh load space barrier / something to hang things onto....

Hopefully should be finished later today and I'll post some pics of inside and outside !

Got to go and have a lie down now, 2 days of doing bits to the Defender. Yesterday the seat and couple of other bitty jobs, today I put the Volky wiper relay on and as I had a spare washer jet put the 2 washers in the spare wiper holes. Both great improvements Thumbs Up
