Where is the best place to get the correct Leak Check 40040 sealant from?
I know dum-dum putty is no longer available, but has anyone got an alternative? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |

If you mean the black stuff for sealing up holes etc. (old caravans were practically built with it) which gets soft when you play with it and hardens when you stop ( ) it's called "butyl sealant" and you can buy it in strips, e.g. http://www.ebay.de/itm/BOLT-ON-PANEL-SEALE...33578589f8 it never hardens so you can always use it again... also makes a great children's toy I think window sealant like Arbomast is similar but not so "thick"... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

It's almost certainly the sunroof not sealing properly. The water's getting in when the car's parked up and collecting in the headlining.
cheers rob All opinions expressed in this posting are my own and are not necessarily those of someone who knows what they are talking about. |

If you think it is the sunroof remove the glass and smear silicone grease around the rubber (available from plumbers merchants). Don't be tempted to use petroleum jelly |

When I had my Series 3 water would collect in the inside of the guttering, and then when I drove/braked would find a hole to gush out of, mostly down my neck. It was funny at first, but soon me off.
It turned out the fix for my old beast was to drill out all the spot welds of the roof where it met the guttering and reseal with mastik, then rivet it down again. it never leaked again (from the roof) I doubt you will want to do this BTW. But I could also buy it off you if you want 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

If it's running down the roof under the rear edge of the metal frame, you might try the "creeping crack sealant" that some on the forum swear by... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
