As new member to the forum, I need to say 'it's great!
I have a question for the forum: Does anybody know of availability of a cover for the Defender 90 (Puma) to keep the content out of prying eyes. I travel extensively in Europe and worry leaving the truck parked with a full content at the back. I normally cover the content with a blanket. I wonder if there is a 'roller blind Discovery type cover' available somewhere? And, is there a retailer that sells auxiliary fuel tank (Doolium type) for Defender 90. Hey jlerra I know what you mean with the prying eyes but I don't know about the roller blind cover your talking about. But if your looking for a full sized car cover you have to check out http://www.carcoversuk.com/ they do the best covers for any car you name it, if they don't have it they customize it and you can choose your colour from a wide range of colours. I bought a indoor british racing green cover for my puma 110 and if you have any accessories mention it too them and they customize it. Now I paid just over 200 quid for it but I thought it was well worth it. Since my 110 is not my daily driver and I ordered a soft top 90 last month so that is going to be my daily driver

I think I may have mislead the forum about the 'discovery type roller cover for the luggage compartment'.
The Defender exposes the content to any prying eyes as unless you put a blanket over the luggage which indicates to the would be burgler that there is something worth stealing. A purposely designed cover (as per the roller cover of the Discovery) would be ideal!! I have tried asking Exmoor trim, but they are not interested as they say they have a big workload with the MOD contract. I ahve also tried a firm in Birmingham - not interested either. How about tinted glass, a dog/cargo barrier and cages over the rear windows? Or one or other of them. We have tinted glass and a dog guard. Hard to see what's in the back to be honest.
I have also been dreaming about designing a cover for the boot space. I'm thinking velcro, tough black fabric... |

Willy,
I don't know the real %age tint, but i'm guessing 75%. They are brilliant for security and the kids and don't hamper visibility out. Here are a couple of photos that best show the tint. One was in the first 2 months of ownership, the other this winter, both taken before the snorkel was fitted (and dog cage for that matter).

The pics look good of your defender 110.
However, am not keen on tints (the guardia civil in Spain tend to stop you regularly!) besides, my truck is black and it will look like a hearse. Am not too keen either on the 'dog barrier. Would prefer a 'roller blind' for luggage cover. I might try a 'Heath Robinson' approach and buy a roller blind of the appropriate width and breadth. 'Great Forum this' Joe JLS 'El Pepe Flamenco' |

Cheers 110SEB looks good, I found the Tints in the D3 about right, gives the dogs a bit of privacy as well, being Black Labs people can't see them.

Go to Ikea.
Buy a cheap black-out blind (£20) at 1.2m width. Mount the brackets for the top of the blind either to the back of the seats or to the wheel arches with rivnuts. Mount a couple of hooks at the rear (nearest the back door) to hook the bottom of the blind to. Blind can then be taken out or put in as required. 2 hours work. £20. Job done. An hour at Ikea or two hours at my stealers waiting for them to even realise I have parked the 110 in their garage for them. to be given the attention they said they would give it.

A company in south africa ( armidillo concepts) might be able to help a roller system on the inside - retracting into the triangular void at the back of the second row seats might be practical.Off course it must be able to carry weight as well!
