RIP PC David Rathband
Former PC David Rathband has been found dead at his home and, as no one else was involved, one can reasonably suspect he took his on life. How sad that someone can be brought down to this.

For those members not in the UK and not familiar with this, a man released from prison went on a rampage to kill his ex girlfriend and her boyfriend who was apparently a policeman. PC Rathband, who had no connection other than being a policeman, was on duty sat in a patrol car when the ex prisoner walked up to his car and shot him in the face with a shotgun, blinding him.

Rathband was unable to return to work following the incident and has suffered depression and struggled to cope with his life changing injury.

A stark reminder that it is a very thin blue line.

I was very sorry to hear this news. I simply cannot imagine how difficult it must be to adjust and cope if something like this happens, and it must be unimaginably difficult for his family, friends and colleagues too.

RIP David Rathband. A brave man let down in a whole lot of ways.
