some one needs to explain to him that you get minimal traction when the wheels are bouncing up and down, AND NON WHEN IN THE AIR OR RIPPED OFF!!!

looks like a very dangerous sport,

I do have to say what a machine, the cage alone is a work of art.

i think thats a bit harsh. certainly lots of power, but watch the failed climbs and the way he gets out of the them, using rear steer, lockers F&R and having the bottle then to power and keep it on and knowing when not too requires a lot of skill and experience.

i expect if you stood at the bottom of those obstacles you would understand why they power is needed. they are formidable climbs he is attempting and momentum is going to be key.

I know i have taken loads of clips of off roading and when i look at them back home they look like nothing but felt quite 'extreme' at the time. Pictures and video rarely show it as it is in my experience. the fact those obs look as they do in this clip should tell us something! Cheers

I have to agree with andy.... 90% of that is point, press and hope- what the Yanks are best at.

If you are looking at vehicles with power and slopes that require more skill, watch the islandic hill climb!!

I have just watched again........ It makes me cringe the way that he doesn't at any point put the throttle on partially- his foot is either off the throttle or fully on it. There is no control at all there.

Have a watch of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGwVIU80iy4

They are going over some pretty awesome rocks and at no point are they bouncing the car or just flooring it and they still get up.

I see it all the time here in Cyprus.... they guys with the Suzukis, Jeeps etc have to floor it everywhere and are bouncing all over the place- they are right on the edge of loosing control and hitting something/ rolling over- but I then go the same way in low range second gear and breeze through in complete control because I get to choose my route and not just rely on the truck bouncing/ sliding in the right direction.

The car's called 'Showtime'. It's not built for trundling around in low 2nd Rolling Eyes

It reminds me of a 4WD RC car. They tend to bounce around all over the place and are, of course, most fun when flat out Cool

From an engineering perspective, it's pretty impressive, but as a Land Rover replacement it'd be useless, of course. Where would you put the hay bales and the hitch for an Ifor Williams trailer? Where would the dog sit? Laughing Darren
