Since having a few France road trip holidays in the summer and skiing, I personally think it's an awesome country, full of diversity, excellent food and drink, great weather, great scenery.

I think I can stretch to another £1.50, seems quite a small cost compared to the £1k of fuel we use each time! Cool 2016 D4 HSE

Chuffing hell. I never wanted to go to France, but I have to go through the damn place to get somewhere interesting, like Belgium, or Germany. Grrrr. And I don't drink! Wouldn't it make more sense for the plods to just breath test you like they do here? What do you do, test yourself and carry on anyway cos you are Censored ? Makes no sense at all...

More like they are so tight over there they want the British to bring their own kit for the French police to breathalise you with. Thus saving the French a few pounds and costing us instead. Soon they'll want to charge people by the mile just to pass through Rolling Eyes Never wanted to go to 'their' country and never will.

It's a open tax on anyone wanting to use their roads. An excuse to stop and fine. Nothing to do with anything else. Personally, I'll be taking the fine.

And the law applies to all, not just visitors.

Well said! Thumbs Up It's amazing how many 'Victor Meldrews' crawl out of the closet and flap their chops about unfair tax, how they won't be visiting France and have to go through there to get somewhere intersting....blah, blah, blah, over a paltry £1:50?
