No Brake lights ??
Seems a bit pathetic to be asking on here but one of you may have the simple answer i'm looking for !!

Got to work this morn and no brake lights, both side lights are ok.

Just had an hour going round car and can't find what the problem is. I've had bulbs out,had plastic 'button' from pedal out, checked fuses and not coming up with anything noticable to show a fault.

Dare i say help ??

Thanks in advance, and go easy on me it's friday Big Cry Dave

Had this happen on a tdi once. Turned out to be a broken feed wire. You need to check if there is power going to the bulb holder in the lights. If not and fuses etc are o.k. then you must have an interruption in power somewhere, most likely a broken wire. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

take wires of switch and join together. If lights work then switch is faulty. Make sure ignition switch is on Whistle

Had a switch pack up while driving home, but ALL the lights went. That's how I diagnosed it was a faulty switch Rolling with laughter Drove home on hazard lights alone. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Try a circuit tester between the brake light switch with the ignition ON and see if your lights work but i had a mate who had to replace both brake light multi plugs at the back of the lamps on a similar aged Defender tdi, they were not making the connection. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
