Obviously THAT doesn't look crap The Snow cover more or less covers up the edge of the chequerplate cutout on that side. I was rather more asking about the other side, where there is only the plastic blanking part - when it's underneath the plate it looks a bit crap to me... p.s. Actually, thanks to the info here, I just checked my wing plates and the cut-outs are smaller than the Entreq ones - I had them made up by another German firm. So the snow cover will have to sit on top of everything anyway. I'll match up the other side. I've got my own rubber foam, Sikaflex and butyl so I should be able to seal everything nice and tight Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... Last edited by ZeDefender on 22nd Feb 2012 10:45pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Here's the other side with the blanking plate on top:
Click image to enlarge Again, I've fitted a neoprene gasket beneath the edge of the plate to allow for the height of the 'chequers'. When I was fitting my wing tops, I did wonder why the manufacturers of this stuff don't just omit the cut-out on the off-side wing. It serves no purpose and would save a small amount of faffing about. Ho hum. You'll likely need some longer screws to fix both this and the snow guard, too. Yup - that's exactly what I'm doing
I was also going to rivet the plate on but it's "over-contoured" so normal rivets aren't long enough Luckily I have a rivnut tool and screws (it looks as though you did the same?) - it also means I will be able to remove the plate if I have to (might be a useful little space down there ). I guess the manufacturers have holes in both sides for people like me... left hand drive where everything is on the "wrong" side Tell someone you love them today because life is short. No, I just used longer screws into the original fixings. The chequer plate was pre-drilled to match. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Luxury Aahhh no! You mean around the intake? I meant all the other plate fixings on the wing - due to the curved design of mine, the plate sits about 5mm above the wing and the rivets don't grip. Rivnuts and screws have solved the problem Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Ah, sorry. Misunderstood. Yes, the chequerplate is fixed to the wings with the supplied countersunk bolts into rivnuts. Darren
