looking forward to my second Defender2 meeting, the first being a very brief meeting with the Group that visited the Land Rover factory a couple of months ago. Ive googled the hotel it looks top notch so the Mrs is happy as well.
Ive booked Monday off work to clean the landy, perhaps I shouldnt have admitted that here. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Barbara has been muttering about cozzies, not sure why!

All vehicles are now safely off the lanes and most people are heading home whilst a few of the others are propping up the bar.
James, TJ, Mark and Anthony deserve a big for organising the event. Must admit James and TJ played exceptionally well by having a few words with Him upstairs ensuring that the weather was superb for the end of Feb. Am sure that the odd photo or two will appear over the next few days. Thanks James, TJ et al for organising a good event Brendan |

What a great weekend the Dog the Mrs and I had!.
A big thank you to James and the crew for all thier time and effort in organising this enjoyable weekend, and to all those that came for the good company. The Hotel was great, and with a loverly sit down meal in the evening and breakfast on Sunday morning that allowed us all to get to know each other. As first time 4x4 off roaders we approached this weekend with some trepidation, but thanks to those whom offered welcome advice and support I got my Landy through every lane with no trouble at all (although Im sure the photos of our faces will tell a different tale) How many first time off roaders can say theyve dont the Strata Florida, Im glad Ive booked Monday off to wash away the evidence and return "George" to his usual shiny self Hopefully looking forward to the next such event and meeting even more of you DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Echo all the previous comments.....
Big thanks to James, Tim, Mark & Anthony for their organisation & support. In particular to James who was the epitome of professionalism all the way through from the event email correspondence through to even having some spare sticky pads available when I had a number plate malfunction on Strata Florida. Thanks too to Steve for the self tapper Super hotel in terms of room, facilities & food. Great bunch of people, good natured banter, super lanes, spectacular scenery, incredible weather, very little wind (biggest gust being Brendan at lunch time ). A top couple of days all round. Like Rob, I'm pretty new to venturing off the black stuff and this was exactly the type of trip I needed to help build my confidence. Even Annabel (my soon to be 11 year old daughter) loved the laning. In particular gate duty, CB eye spy and accompanying James through the bomb hole, after I flaked and decided I valued my tow bar too much. If James & Tim where to run a similar event in the future, I would wholeheartedly recommend it to others, irrespective of ability. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |
