2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Java Black
Load Carrying
Hi all,

Need to shift a load of wood flooring (it fits inside just but would mean multiple trips back and forth) - thinking about roof bars but then have the question of fixing the load in place.

Anyone recommend a good system of bars / attachments?

I need to order today preferably!

if you have a tow bar - how about hire a trailer ?

I have mambo roof bars and some thude roof bars both work well but you could damage your truck loading and unloading

If you go down the roof bar route, be careful not to load excessively.

Wood flooring is heavy, and would be hard to get on the roof without damaging the truck. I use a Kari-Tec for such awkward loads - but even then I keep the load below 100kg on the roof.

But for wood, I would use a combination of the rear load area and a trailer. Could carry up to 3 tonnes at a time (1 in the back, and 2 in the Trailer)...

The max roof load is only 150 kilos.
