1989 Defender 110 200 Tdi PU Bonatti Grey
110 trayback
200 tdi engine
full terrafirma "2 lift(need to lift the front a tad more)
steering and front and rear diff guards
td5 heated seats
lrs engineering dash
cooper "33's on "15x10 modulars
winch bumper
snorkle
rear superwinch hydraulic winch
lots of security,tracker
hidden booby trap device

I know its a bit daft but my theme for it was like a vehicle from the res evil series, i'd always wanted a defender tomb raider but couldnt afford one, plus it was a 2 fingers up at the landy "one life live it" motto, more "one death die it"
I got it as an unfinished project with not tax or test, i've been slowly compiling a list of stuff I plan to do,

discrete cab only roll-cage
rock sliders
rear hoops and waxed canvas back(brown)
custom belstaff/barbour wax canvas seat covers (brown)
nakamichi head unit-2 mids-2 tweeters - sub woofer between seats
cb radio
train horns
full length roof rack from front of cab to rear of truck- ladders up both sides of rear
roof tent, custom cover to match tilt
hidden strobes
on board compressor
arb diff locks

sound proofing!

first thing I did was clean the truck it had been stood and was seriously filthy, I spent 5 days cleaning, servicing and replacing fasteners!
as its cold i've got the truck cab interior in my workshop/living room, i'm slowly covering them in natural pigskin, closest I could get to human, it wont be obvious as its quite discrete and goes well with the grey/brown/black theme i've got in my head,(nike air safari)

snapped this in the bit of snow we had...

heres the dash, thinking along the lines of a mount for an ipod integrated into the fascia, midland cb will fit it the top opening, upgraded all the bulbs to led's, going to replace all the screw heads with allen heads eventually, last will be one of those flexie map lights my old man used to have in his corsair,

open to any idea's at all,

methinks it might not be posh enough for defender2!! Wink

after having my 130 expedition truck stolen from outside the house i've gone to silly lengths to try to secure this one, to the point where i now have a dog! fearless little Censored too!

i genuinely had feelings for this bus, we were off to explore europe in it last year, taught me a harsh lesson, low mileage 300tdi,bigger intercooler, kenlowe fans, eberspacher remote heater, heated seats, strobes, all round lights, dyna matted, nice hi-fi, CB, pto winch, goodrichs, and it was a meticulously maintain stup-id bargain,
still gutted...

previous to that i'd had this home made 200tdi quad-cab for years, it looked shabby but was really solid and never let me down, i spent 4 months in oz one year and came back in the january winter, after a few cranks it started, i kissed it, so many memories in this old girl, some strange ones too, hijacked by a crack fuelled prositute no less!

thing was NO ONE ever touched it, i left it stuck in fields overnight, city centres etc, it just got left alone,
i knew when i watched the new owner drive away in it that i'd made a massive mistake,

anyways, i've rambled on enough, without these two going i'd never have bought this freaky little oddball,

which is staying with me hopefully!

thanks again for the kind comments and friendly welcome!

little update to get my post count up so my FS ad is ok,

got some more umbrella decals but took them off as fast as i put them on, they were just too much, all along I've wanted discrete, well as discrete as a vehicle with those silly tyres can be, mies van der rohe, less is more I keep thinking,

finally sorted the belstaff wax cotton fabric and embroidered patches for the custom seat covers, should arrive this week,

ordered the wider flexi arch kit, thankfully flatdog.com were willing to sell just the front pair, the thoughts of having to buy four when I only needed two were annoying, I'll take some pics when I fit them this week, it'll be nice to have the truck 100% strictly road legal at long last, the tyres protruding way past the arches hasn't got me in bother but its nice to know everything is nice and straight, she should look even more "pitbull" when they're fitted

serviced the hydraulics and gave the winch a proper test, pulls like a train, and I mean pulls, its not fast like an 8274 but its brutally smooth and torquey,

fixed the heater so at least it feels like she's attempting to clear the screen,

made some more measurements an calculations for the roll cage, decided its better to get that sorted before ordering the full length roof rack, just so everything fits properly,

still can't make up my mind whether to just jump in at the deep end and buy a canvas rag top for the cab!!??

my biggest issue/grip at this point is the steering wheel, its just constantly TOO close to me, I'm 6ft3 so have fairly long broad arms and the cab seems to feel cramped, atm I've got a mountney semi dish wheel flipped over to the dish is away from me and its a bit better, the boss feels and looks far too long which is a pain,
if anyone has a solution that would help even a little or knows of a shallower boss I'd be very grateful!

last one,

I want to put 2m whip aerial mounted on the mid section of the truck but bent over to the front like the old BAJA racers used to do, would this be "TOO much"??

thanks as always for the comments, please feel free to comment positive or negative thoughts!!
