Are my tyres faulty
I bought my latest 90 18 months old & it came shod with Cooper discoverer s/t tyres. It doesn't do many miles but I've noticed the tyres seem to be scalloping on the inner and outer edges both back and front. I have been told the steering set up on Defenders is bullet proof and is more likely to be the tyres at fault. The steering feels correct with no tugging to the side. Having the allignment checked but your comments would be appreciated. On the upside- the quicker they wear out the quicker I get my BFG's Whistle

I've always used 32 front 38 rear (Psi) As the hand book suggests.

Not running the same tyre's as you myself. Are there many round abouts in your area?

It could have been taking corners and or going around round abouts a bit to fast. Or maybe contributed anyway. Not saying you have but maybe previous owner. Question

Got Cooper ST's on mine [265/75x16]

No issues at all, tread wear is perfectly even .. wearing well tbh, lost 2mm of depth in 17,000 miles

I run mine 30 fr, 40 rr Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

No problem at all Thumbs Up All I can think of If everything else is checked and is not a problem is that maybe it's a characteristic of your particular tyres. Especially if like you say the pressures are correct. Perhaps the previous owner was a bit of an over zealous driver cornering to quickly to often Rolling Eyes Failing all this just go for some KM2's like mine Whistle Wink

Bfg's are my preferred tyre. Always had new Defenders in the past and had the sausage GG TR's exchanged for AT's before collection. Are the MT's noisy on road and what size do you run on. Fancied the 255's as a compromise between 235 and 265

I don't notice any noise difference to be honest nothing to take any notice of anyway! The Grabbers I had lasted very well and weren't actually wore out just wanted KM2's Embarassed I bought the 235 the same as OEM because this was cheaper and I wanted a set of 5. Plus the fitting and balancing added too all in all must have cost about £800 - £900 Big Cry Another thing is I would have thought fuel consumtion would have gone up a little with a wider tyre too. IMO all round a far superior tyre to the Grabber's in all manner of conditions. On reflection I wish I had chosen slightly wider even if just for looks Mr. Green
