My 2000 td5 90 came with 36" simex on mach5s and a 6"+ lift and it drove awful . First job was remove the wheels/tyres and drop the suspension to a more sensible +2".Then fitted front superwinch and bumper. Also got rid of side exiyt straight through exhaust and refitted standard rear exit(more bearable on motorway)
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Next job was fit side windows to improve visibility. Then i had a trip to BAS and Pete gave it a remap which made so much of a difference that i couldnt drive it in 5th because the clutch couldnt handle it so todays job was to replace the clutch and at the same time i fitted a second hand D2 transfer box that i built out of bits so that all the switches and speedo drive still fit it now drives superb Jobs planned Reskin drivers door to get rid of damage new rear door with heated window(currently fitted with perspex windows) Complete respray in wimbledon green(see other thread ) replace chassis with galvanised shiny new one rebush Refit refurbed Mach5s with some more road friendly 33/12.5/15(prob ATs of some sort) rebuild both axles(may swap for something different) Remove cage, blast and tidy up possibly get rid of bonnet pod(undecided yet) blast and galv NAS rear step replace white lights with correct coloured ones No doubt the list will continue to grow Paul Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

None of those chassis will be going on,they are all spoken for Thanks for the comments guys, will be an ongoing project this one . The first priority was to make it drive a bit nicer which it now does so i can now concentrate on making it look a bit prettier Paul |

another job done today. When i got the car a few weeks ago the previous owner told me it had had the injectors replaced but i was getting a knocking when hot so i reset the injectors
What a difference-knocking gone and even more power . The injectors were a mile out of adjustment and obviously had never been reset. Next job is to check the injector codes as these may not have been reprogrammed either Paul |

But i have decided that i wont be putting it back on so the search is now on for a pair of straight front wings and a straight rear tub Paul  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Just had a measure on the car and the distance from the rear edge of the door to the rear mounting holes is 54.5" and the distance between the centers of the 2 rear mounts is approx 48"
