It's arrived!!!!

Just took delivery of a new 110 XS in Black, swapped it out my D3 HSE, loosing way to much money on the D3 so decided on the 110 for a while.
Sets of my white '96 300 tdi 90 just fine.

Now in 'tinkering' mode and was wondering if anyone knew best way to get the radio and the big switch facia panel off i.e the one with all the heater controls??
Great forum BTW and am now a defector from Disco3!!!!

I bought an AVT Sentinel GPS tracking system and want to fit it.
Heard they were good and expensive NO running costs!!!!
Not to mention the new Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth for the phone

Following is the part of the workshop manual relating to the console removal.

The radio unit has a pair of holes at each side. I bent two lengths of stout wire into a "U" shape and inserted the ends into the holes to disengage the clips holding the unit into the console. With some jiggling it came out. Mahn

OK Sit rep!
Radio was a bit of a

but managed in the end.
Screws out, panel off with sharp tug

Thanks one_iota for extract from the manual, very usefull

Tracker not fitted yet, waiting for new Pioneer head unit to arrive so will do that in a oner.
Fitted all the tracker aerials in out of the way places (that was fun

)
Just got to find permanent live supply for the unit.
And thanks you lot for all your tips

Done a grand total of 132 miles so far!!
