Thinking of going late June early July.
Does anyone know of a good campsite and any Green Lanes? Thanks Mick. |

Glen Wyllin Campsite in Kirk Michael is OK. There's also a decent site in Peel

I'm over in a couple of weeks to give the 110 it's first "overseas trip" http://www.roadracingsupporters.com |

If you're there 9th - 12th July check out the Southern 100 Road Races. Evening practice and racing 9th - 11th and Championship day on the 12th. It's free!

Many of the of the greenways have weight limits of 500kg, which means trail bikes only really.
Went there last year for a week. Great holiday. Lapped the the TT course in under an hour in the middle of the day. Coming down from Creg ne Baa was fun! Didn't push it too much though, I wonder if this is a record for a Defender . I think I was more of a George Formby than a Joey Dunlop . The outright 2 wheel lap record is 17 minutes 12.3 seconds held by John McGuinness on a Honda Fireblade Superbike The outright 4 wheel lap record is 19 minutes 56.7 seconds held by Mark Higgins in a Subaru STi And a Defender on open roads, whereas the above were on closed roads, is 59 minutes and a few seconds held by cinstone I'm over there in a couple of weeks, I shall give it a shot Here's Mark Higgins "the worst moment of his life" http://www.roadracingsupporters.com Last edited by roadracingtog on 24th Jan 2012 9:55pm. A great place for a holiday,, steep back 25 years
To do a "Lap" its a case of a pint in every pub on the TT course,, pretty legless by the time you get to Kirk Michael /Ballaugh Bridge As for any lanes etc,, before my time, and had left the island then California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |
