Wipac Crystal worth it?
Wipac Crystal headlight units are they worth getting over the standard quad optics? Main reason for thinking of upgrade is rust around my current quadoptics. Do the Crystal versions suffer from this? Whilst at it I may as well change the bulbs too to better one's. Think I'm developing Defender related modification OCD Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

Definitely worth upgrading for the aesthetics alone IMO, but it won't cure your rust issue - the new lamps use the same retaining bezels off the old ones. I think I remember someone saying that you can source some stainless bezels now, so probably worth some investigation. If you are going to change the lamps for the clear lens units, it's probably worth upgrading the bulbs as well. I have Osram Night Breaker Plus bulbs in Wipac clear lens lamps and think it gives a good result, definitely an improvement over the standard lights. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

In that case might as well just use original bezels strip and black hammerite them. Not to sure on stainless or chrome being not in keeping with the vehicle. (On mine anyway)

Bpman what is that mesh behind your grill? Looks good especially as the SVX grill is weak and leaves little or no protection for behind. Formerly mao99999

You will hardly see the stainless rings when you get your headlight surround panel back on so you may as well go stainless and you wont have the problems again.

Wipac crystals and upgraded bulbs do make a big improvement over standard OEM lights. I have them and have recently purchased PIAA extreme white bulbs on bpmans recommendation as the DB's in bulbs.

Just transferred the wipacs from the SVX to the xs dcpu today in anticipation for sidelight led lamps for the SVX.
The SVX is looking pretty bare with no "eyes" or grille (currently sorn/no need in winter) so these leds better be good as the wipacs are sublime on the dcpu Whistle Formerly mao99999
