Roolites or Lightforce (based around the same design I believe) are probably best bang for your buck, the 170's should fill out the bar well enough without being too large & sticking proud of the bumper. You can go pretty big with the lamps, but personally I prefer them smaller and more powerful. Check out these 170's http://www.lightforce.com/products/170-striker if you go for the HID's you should get plenty of light output. I manufactured some small extension brackets for my Hella's so that they are dropped in line with the factory headlights. Being pretty much the same diameter, they line up pretty well. I'll see if I can find a photo for you Thumbs Up

Dont want cheap ones but not spending hundreds on something
That only get used every now & then !!! Like the look of the
Roolites.

I got my Roo Lights on the aircon grill and nudge bar... I think they may possibly have a little bit of a large diameter, but they do make a great difference and haven't had any problems with them yet!

On mine?

If yes: No it's a steering guard from Cheviot 4x4... Got a little bomb shape cut out of the middle hole I thought it looked quite cool!

If no: I apologise for stealing that question.

Just curious but, when I was fiddling about putting the bumperettes on the back of my motor I came across a piece of steel bar about 8mm thick by 13mm wide that was fixed inside the X member. This bar was fixed inside and seemed to follow the lower angle of the box section. It is biased to the front of the car leaving a gap of 13mm from the outside face and caused me a fair amount of difficulty to poke a bolt through the X member from the inside. This bar is on both sides and for the life of me I can't work out what it's there for, apart from to Censored off interfeering, fiddling Defender owners
