You should know my username by now Zag! Yes if you want to have a go in my 109" you can but its a long way off a standard series being a 1-ton with loads of special bits, oversize tyres, lower gearbox ratios etc etc. If you see anything local and want me to come along as an extra pair of eyes let me know, best send a PM as I am not always online. Cheers. 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

I tried to post pic's, but I keep getting "debug mode".
Anyway, yes, the milage. I did about 1200 miles in six weeks. I got her off a S2C member for £1700 with almost a full years MOT. Currently the head gasket's gone, so it'll be lead free'd soon. You'll pay more for a similar condition 2/2a with the lights above the grill and because they are tax free. You may find a tax free 3 though. S3 gearboxes are full syncro'. Ah, I see. Hardly specific to this one though - that applies to virtually every vehicle advertised and pretty much any detail in an advert. There's clearly no substitute for looking at it and checking out those sorts of things. Buyer beware, and all that. Exactly, you have just answered your own question
"In what way is the mileage unknown I only ask as it states 58600 in the ad" I wouldn't assume this, "The mileage is given at just over 58k, which is very good for a 35 year old vehicle" From the vendors description, ""It has loads of serivice history, is showing just over 58,000 miles" |

I had a little S2 for a while and I enjoyed it, its very similar to the S3 just less plastic inside. Make sure you take it for a decent test drive before you buy, the drawbacks (imo) are that on a main road its not fast enough to keep up with traffic so inevitably you will have queues following trying to overtake, then on small minor roads like the ones in this village it bounces around and wonders from side to side because of the old steering box system. I had some very near misses, but a true Series fanatic will tell you none of that is a problem.
