My understanding is that factory fit is free of charge - Which if you think about it ain't much, wheels, tinted windows, tow bar etc. Everything else will be dealer fit and therefore charged, but at a tax free price. I could be wrong but this was certainly the case on my military export D4.

Last time I had anything done at Stratstone it was £100 an hour labour. I dare say that Stratstone Mayfair cost more though.

Two things - factory fit does have fitting fee included (in compliance to EU laws for end customers). But many things from the accessories list is not factory fit, but dealer fit - i.e. tow bar and other things typically mounted right before delivery to end customer. These parts come in the back of the car to the dealer and their fitting fee is negotiable.
Be aware that putting things in the back of the car when shipping to China might end up in things being rejected upon entering customs. Some parts are allowed when being fitted, some others are subject for additional toll charge, some aren't allowed at all when not fitted and part of the car. Go to the stealer and negotiate-away fees you don't like. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |
