Its all a grey area, there's an artical in the latest LRO where a well known and respected specialist has rebuilt a very early series 2, on a second hand ausie chassis and bulkhead and a replacement engine from a different car altogether - front suspension and steering are original though..........

The MOT man always giggles when I take my 100" series 2 bitsa in, which bit is 1969 he asks! At least it dates from long before DVLA got interested in such things.

In this case though the modifications to the chassis mean it certainly needs a VOSA / SVA inspection. John
