Not this old chestnut!
Whatever the history, merits etc. of the issue, NO political party will ever propose it… Opposition would immediately counter-attack with “in these times of NHS cuts, record unemployment etc., the Blah Blah party proposes concessions for the rich and privileged with their classic Ferraris and Bugattis?” I can’t find the communication from the Car Club of which I’m a member which said they’re NOT gonna push for this, but they feared accusations of being called “Hooray Henrys”. Yes, I know a Series I owner is hardly a Hooray Henry, but all’s fair in politics. Peter |

I am not in favor off the change. Before I get shot I'll explain;
If in the UK the Land Rover between 1973 and 1987 become tax free, the price will increase so we Dutch cannot buy any cheap pre 1987 Land Rovers anymore. Our cut-off date is 1-1-1987.  Roel

Mate, there is no need for that 
Walfy is just voicing his opinion, and he's not alone in thinking the same thing. He's also correctly pointed out that it doesn't get automatically looked at. But it is a gauge that the gov can use to see where public opinion is. So for example it managed to reach 100k signatures and then some bean counter looks at it and says "it'll cost £4.5m p/a but you'll gain 200,000 votes -in the meantime we will get an extra £1.2bn in increased revenue from the 1p per litre increase in fuel duty coming in that no one will oppose". For me, the sake of a 2 min click & fill on the interweb it's worth doing  |
