A mass exodus of OUR money will bring them down pretty quickly.

We need a new system, stockmarket driven banks and businesses where profit rules over ethics was last century.

Time for a change

I've tried HSBC, Halifax and Santander Business. They are, in my opinion, crap and driven purely by profit/greed/cost cutting and generally treat their customers only marginally worse that they treat their staff.

I now do my business banking online with Bank of Scotland. No local branch but, apart from the online service and the standard 0845 service, I also have a direct line to a business manager for queries and transfers/authorisations etc. There are no charges as long as I keep a min. of £5k in credit.
I would recommend them for anyone running a business.

I'm an electrical contractor so I do not send parcels etc. but I certainly receive regular deliveries from all over the country. Royal Mail,City Link and Interlink are not very good but TNT and UPS are, as they seem to make more of an effort to deliver, on time and to an alternative address if req.

Anyone use/used a more "specialist" bank like Coutts, Handelsbanken, etc?

I'd like a more personal service (HSBC Premier try but fail IMO) if possible. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Coutts are the worst of the lot. No matter how much you have in your account they still charge an exorbitant fee per year.
