England 2002 Defender 90 Td5 HT Epsom Green
Hi Odin

Re the issue with centre of gravity - yes it would have an effect on the standard suspension set up.

I have heavy duty LR springs front and rear, terrafirrma plus 2" dampers and Gwyn Lewis 1" spring extension spacers front and rear.

Apart from recovery gear i try to run the car as light as possible.

Even with an IRB remap the most noticable difference before and after fitting the cage was the pull away acceleration from standstill. Mid range speed not affected and additional wind noise hardly noticable.

I went with the Safety Devices cage as it fits a lot closer to the body work than other makes on offer and to me it looks the better for it.

Fitting was easy, just be brave and check your measurements before cutting the holes in the body work!

Any question, just ask

ps Terrafirma stockists can generally get the cage within the week, some other companies have to order it via SD and await for it to be made but speak to Greeni first
