Although this is my first post on this forum Martin has kindly granted me exemption on the selling stuff due to the fact that I was Defender owner who defected to the Nancy Boys by buying a Freelander 2 and joining Freel2.com
![]() Anyway, I have the Rovacom Lite diagnostic gear which I used on my TD5 but is no use on the Freelander 2 without spending another £1,000. it is therefore for sale and I thought I would offer it on the forum before sticking it on fleabay. The Rovacom Lite is now not sold anymore by Black Box Solutions but is still supported with updates etc. via their website and help forums. Their new product centres round the Faulmate MSV 2 which is fine but unless you shell out a lot of money you would be buying the Single Vehicle kit which means it is tied to one vehicle via the VIN No. and could not be used on any other vehicle. You can check all this by visiting www.blackbox-solutions.com. My gear cost about £1,000 when I bought it and has licenses (transferable) for the TD5 engine management, engine programming, Lucas 10as alarm/immobiliser and engine management for the old Rover 2ltr diesel (my wife had a Rover 420) which I guess would work with the Freelander 1 Diesel. More software licences can be bought for a large range of Land Rover/Rover vehicles should you wish. I have used it mainly for coding injectors on ECU change, fault code reading & clearing, programming fobs and activating alarms. The real time fuelling screen is very useful for checking stuff like MAFF sensor operation. I am not an expert but some who are say this gear is better than the Land Rover Testbook gear. I am sure Gary at Five Alive may have a view should you ask him. The kit I am selling includes the vehicle server, vehicle interface, power pack, ODB11 lead and Serial Port lead. You will need your own laptop computer (high spec is not necessary) preferably with internet connection. If your laptop is of newer design and does not have a Serial Port you will need a USB adapter lead which is available from Black Box Solutions. You can buy a basic code reader only nowadays for about £250 or a Faultmate MSV2 Nano (single vehicle only) for about £400 so my price for the Rovacom Lite is £300. PM me if you have any questions. If you live near me (Somerset) have a TD5 and would like a demo, just let me know. John 2007 Freelander 2 HSE Land Rover Series One Triumph Rocket 111 |
