You can just put a small transparent inline one on the fuel line if you feel like it.

Errr yes we have fitted larger tanks to our vehicles.
As for additional fuel filters if I remember correctly Land Rover supplied 110's for abroad with an extra fuel filter in the (UK) offside rear wheel arch. Glass bodied and referred to as a sedimentor?? Question would be why do you wish to install a second fuel filter? Brendan |

One of the issues with a puma is that there is no tank bung so you can't drain it if you have a problem. For certain places I guess an in line filter might be useful, but to be honest I can't really think of any unless you plan to go somewhere where they might fill your vehicle from drums.

Just moved to Morocco for work, brought my 2007 110CSW with me and plan to push south as often as possible with local 4x4 enthusiasts.
Puma engines (injectors) are not happy with water, less than previous Land diesel engines. Diesel quality has surprised locals on occasions, in remote areas, most use fuel separators (helps with solids as much as water). And large or numerous tanks, increase the surface left for condensation to form, problem helped by large temperature range between day and night (the solution is to be fueled up for the night: no space for condensation to form! but not always practical). Seen and heard about the Racor from locals, so wondered about their use on Pumas. Thanks for the inputs |

I found this Racor fuel filter. I suppose It directly replace the standard fuel filter assembly:
http://www.euro4x4parts.com/parts/frp1005-...ra230.html Anyone is using it ? @Apynala: The filter suggested in your link look like the standard filter, could you better describe it ? |

OE filter is designed to filter down to 5um particle size (not 20um like the racor). And since the main injection pump does all the work, I doubt an extra filter would work.
By accident I broke my fuel filter holder and I had to put 2 std filters (one on each line) to get away. I can tell the engine did not like it. At least this setup. I would take enough OE filters (mahle, mann, fuelmanager, etc. They are all good) and drain them more often. I also recommend to take the tank-filter tube spare. Thanks for pointing me to AULRO.COM, I found many interesting discussion Puma related.
This is fuel filter related: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defen...-fuel.html There are some reference about the RACOR 445R-2 filter http://www.allpointsmarineco.com/images/up...83c846.jpg It's an interesting product that can probably replace the stock fuel filter and feature an integrated manual priming pump, clear bowl, filtering up to 2 micron and optional heating and water detection sensor. |
