Thanks everyone! I think realistically the shipping idea will just cost too much. None of our vehicles are expedition-ready, so adding that cost on to the cost of shipping will leave us fairly high and dry! Although thank you for the heads up for Foley Killer90 Thumbs Up

Thanks for the links Brendan - also good to know about taking parts out. Hadn't thought of that! Will look into making contact with a local club!

And thanks as well BigMike - Was beginning to have doubts as it seems like a bit of a mammouth task with all the borders to cross. But I do somewhat agree with you in that overplanning can take some of the adventure out of it. Having said that. Don't want to get to our first border and told to turn around Smile

Mark I will send you a PM in a bit, just heading out, but very good to know thank you.

Does anyone have any good company they would recommend for shipping? Failing that, any idea if there's anyone who would rent out overland vehicles in South Africa?

if you read Mike you will see xatzhs asked if anyone knows of good companys to recommend for shipping, and also someone who would rent out overland vehicles, so yes what i said does help them doesn't it, Rolling Eyes jesus

Not sure you understand. Foley can arrange shipping, of course they can, just like I can. They would charge a margin, just like I would. They can rent you a vehicle here (for a lot of money) for you to travel about in, ditto over there if they have connections. You're paying their margin when there is no need at all to do so when you can arrange shipping yourself and/or rent vehicles yourself. So no, your comment wasnt really helpful.
