It's almost laughable seeing some people attempt to drive in the snow.
The road past our house isn't exactly steep, but during a pretty hefty but short lived snow shower it was turned into a bit of an ice rink. A few cars attempted to get up using the first gear foot to the floor technique (lots of rev limiter action and no forward movement) and a couple of cars attempted to slip the clutch most of the way (a wee bit of forward movement but a lot of clutch smoke). Felt quite smug when a 110 just plodded up towing a fully loaded livestock trailer with no issues though... After an hour or so there were still a couple of cars struggling using the first gear foot to the floor routine still not getting anywhere, when a young lady in a Vectra diesel crawled up in first gear on tickover. Kudos! |

We had 14" of snow overnight here about four years ago and i sat in the pub watching X5's and Cayennes toil on the wee rise outside... useless. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
