I would just put a new set of latitude's on, any take off's or part worn's will be over 10 years old now and I wouldn't ever run tyres that old.

These were always the old favourites, if you are going for the original look.
Seems as though they are still available. https://www.avontyres.com/en-gb/tyres/avon-rangemaster |

I thought Vintage Tyres now have the rights to the Avon Rangemaster, which will probably mean the price will go the same way as the Avon Traction Mileage $$

Latitude Cross were extensively tested by LR, including track testing at Michelin’s circuit at Clermont Ferrand, don’t waste money on part-worns- they may have plenty of tread but could well be out of round and age-hardened. They are excellent road bias tyres, my only gripe being that they look a bit weedy on a 110, I swapped mine for Boosts/BFG AT see pics for comparison

As a michelin latitude cross user here I recommend them, quiet and a good ride, plus still capable for mild off road and winter weather conditions.
But then I don't do any heavy off roading, I also prefer the stanard classic/understated look, and like that they were an LR optional fitting at one point. 2004 Defender 90 Td5 CSW 2002 Discovery 2 td5 GS (gone) 1994 Defender 90 300Tdi CSW (gone) |

I was 'gifted' a set of five mint condition Boosts with nuts for £100, too good to pass up on as I was due a new set of tyres and the white steels were in need of refurb.

Some great pics there
![]() The Latitudes would make the best sense as this is my “car” & I certainly wouldn’t entertain 10 yr old examples ! Trouble is I’ve a spare set of Wolf wheels & they look great with XZL’s on ![]() |

![]() Click image to enlarge The XZL are alavailable in 7.5 R16, too. But only one rubber block, so I prefer KM3 that have two blocks and therefore more grip (particularly sidewards) than the XZL of that size. Latitude Cross are good tires, too. Mileage on road comparable with BFG KM3 (BFG and Michelin share the same group ![]() |
