Tariffs
The Orange Nutter has decided that all imported vehicles will be subject to a 25% tariff starting next week. JLR's largest single market is currently North America.

I wonder what the impact on JLR will be.

For that matter I wonder what the impact o the world economy will be.

Strange times indeed!

TATA will move production to the USA as Audi will be doing.

With the added benefit that they will be able to continue ICE vehicles for the US market. Unlike the EU that will be shackled to EV and an ever shrinking market of people being slowly forced out of their vehicles.

American jobs for American workers and an American customer base. Trump’s is a business man first, unlike most British and EU politicians who are working towards a WEF and EU agenda and couldn’t be trusted to run a bath.

The UK economy has fully face planted and NOBODY in charge knows what the f…. to do apart from raising taxes and talking war. The former to pay for mass illegal immigration and the later because war keeps the masses distracted.

You do know that it also includes auto parts.........even the Orange one forgot about that

Quote:
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump initially said he was imposing a 25% tariff on all cars coming into the country. The White House later clarified that foreign auto parts would also be taxed at the 25% rate even if the vehicles they go into are assembled domestically.

It will be interesting as our BMW was made in the USA from assembly components

Effectively stopping those in "the land of the free" from buying the European cars they want, and forcing them to buy gas guzzling tanks that don't like corners.

Remember when the Soviets forced their people to buy Trabants and Moskviches, when what the people really wanted were cars from outside the Soviet Union?

Donald gets more like the Russians every day....

His increasingly bizarre behaviour reminds me more and more of one Doctor Idi Amin Dada Oumee, despot of Uganda.

I think he’s doing great, unlike the dozy British Gov who wants to make the U.K. countryside concrete again.
Not to mention the full force of the law diabolical.

Then the U.K. Defence has been increased, Trump mentioned that to U.K. Gov some time ago.
It was not a Gov idea, even though they’d tried to make it look like it is to the media.

Trump suggested it, Gov implemented, is a good idea, but as I mentioned it was Trump’s idea not Labour.

Gov are still pretending that JLR, Rolls, etc are still British, they were sold off abroad some years ago.
Who did that, U.K. Gov.
They aren’t British anymore, not owned in the U.K. or made in GB.

There is the factor that parts are often sourced globally too, but most people believe a brand is native to a country, that its predominantly made and assembled in that country with predominantly parts made from that country particular.

U.K. Parliament in my opinion currently, is nothing but crooked wood in there.
Mind you that has been the case for over a decade whoever is sitting there. TheThunderRolls🇬🇧🇺🇸

Totally agree Trump is the most sensible President in years putting the people who elected him first and protecting their borders, if only our government saw sense and did the same! Our borders are open to anyone with welcome arms yet we risk everything to fight for someone elses borders Ridiculous!
