Slightly sluggish performance from our '05 TD5
Our '05 110 CSW seems to be a little sluggish of late. I don't drive it that often but noticed it immediately when i drove it last.

I've had a similar fault before that was a faulty air flow meter. I wasn't convinced it was the air flow meter this time. (the performance loss isn't that bad) but i changed it as a matter of course and it hasn't made a difference.

Has anyone else had the same problem and if so, what was it?

MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor?

This can get gunked up, particularly if you haven't bypassed the EGR. Take it out by taking off the acoustic cover, then undoing the two bolts on the top of the inlet manifold. It should just pull out. To look at it's a small black cylinder with a domed end. If it's mucky, clean it with some petrol.

Thanks for that. MAP sensor removed, cleaned with a liberal dose of brake cleaner and refitted.

Slight slugishness appears to have been rectified. Very Happy

I might also give the engine a dose of injector cleaner for good measure. "If it ain't sideways, you just ain't tryin'!
