Actuator or door latch
The front passenger CDL doesn’t work very well. Took the card off and sprayed grease on all pivot points but no better. My quandry, is it the actuator failing or the locking mechanism really stiff? The actuator moves it a small amount but not enough to engage the lock. I disconnected the actuator from the levers and it works ok but my thinking is that it’s wearing out and not as strong anymore. Any tests I can do before buying a new actuator.

I would check the wiring to the actuator, especially from the pillar to the door to see if it’s fractured as that could restrict the current getting to the actuator. A way to test the actuator is to disconnect the wiring from the actuator and use a separate negative and fused positive “ jump wire” from the battery to the actuator to see if it now works ok. If not it will be the actuator.
