We were there in July, lovely part of the world. Shame Pic Negre is closed at the moment, victim of its own popularity.

Me and my son spent 3 weeks last year in Barcelona and the Pyrenees, had a great time and found the Vibraction books perfect….apart from the road closures lol.

Our first overlanding trip this year we are going to the Pyrenees, can't wait to be fair. We have done a few bit around the UK but the pics I see on here, and other places it looks amazing. How do you find out about closures, is the old fashioned way, by turning up and finding them or is there an online source?

Have a look at WikiLoc https://www.wikiloc.com look for reports on there for the routes you're interested in. However, the best way to find out is turn up. If it's closed it's all part of the adventure and you may do another fantastic route as an alternative.

Neil, If it is your first trip then buying a vibraction guide and route is a really good idea.

![]() We were there a couple of years ago now, using the vibration books. One of the advantages to that is that they provide updates on any closures etc. But, on what was to be our last day, on the eastern side, we went miles down a narrow, cobbled track, turned a corner and found a ‘boulder’ blocking any progress. I say boulder, but it was genuinely massive - imagine about 4 shipping containers welded together. There had been a huge thunderstorm in the hills the night before, and even more worrying was the thought of what else might be up there waiting to come down. That was a long and tricky reverse uphill in low box to find a space large enough to turn around. As you say, all part of the adventure!!
