D350
Hi all, looking to get backs into a defender albeit the new shape.

How quiet and refined is the cabin on a D350, I’m coming from an X5 M50d, is there much diesel rumble in the cabin?

I have a 25 plate D350 and whilst i cant compare to a X5 I'm very pleasantly surprised how quiet the engine and cabin is overall at speed. A lot of people complain of wind noise around the wing mirrors but mine seemingly doesn't have this.
I'm a rattle and squeak freak and two weeks into ownership (1st March) no noises BUT test drive one at speed to find out

When stationary or in traffic is there much Diesel tremor?

There isnt any diesel tremor more so as its stop/start - its not a diesel noise emanating into the cabin bay or from the outside. I was contemplating a used V8 110 (I have a V8 Ftype) but I found the refinement, fuel consumption and performance of the D350 more suited to my needs of the car.

I went for a D350 XDynamic 110 HSE with Air - Air is important on this car and really makes the ride superb. The Surround Stereo on the HSE is very good.

You can tune a D250 to D350 but theres risks with that and the D350 has larger front brakes though.
Two weeks and 150 miles of ownership no problems - as you'd hope and expect for a car costing low 80's with options.

That’s what I was looking to option a D350 X HSE, it’s not that initiative when trying to add a single item keeping track of what goes and stays.

I have option one to the gunnels and it comes out at mid 80’s when looking at dealer new or even second hand they don’t have most options and there asking imo too much are they selling for a premium? Don’t see how as build is less than 6 months.

There's little to no discounts at the moment as they are still so popular. What options you thinking of getting, I'd recommend classic mud flaps for looks and protecting paint work
And yiu must get dark crissbeam, the standard white is naff IMHO looking like cheap plastic

Not far off the spec of an X. Have you tried clearsight and Hud, I ditched both after seeing them, hud was limited in content and clearsight made my eyes hurt.

You must get dark crosssbeam into your spec its only £180

Your not the first to say that, I read a couple of comments on the clearsight. HUD I have on two of my cars and love it, That said neither have a big wide LCD screen.

I had the clearsight on my XS Edition, tried it once and couldn’t get on with it. Never used it again.

D250 is a quite engine so I’d imagine the D350 would be no different

I specified the white interior crossbeam on mine which was a £180 option on the HSE which looks better than the standard pale grey but it does brighten up the interior over the dark one. And if you have the ambient lighting it shows it off better. Looks like it’s dark grey or light grey only these days. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

When you say you never used it again does it double as a normal mirror?

I don’t see where you can option the cross beam as anything but grey light grey and a darker colour, and if I chose any variation it starts to mess with interior colour, the options are not easy to understand

Yes it’s a normal mirror, flick the switch/tab thing on the mirror then it becomes a camera.

Yeah looks like the white is no longer available. LRs options have got more confusing as the model years have progressed. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

The cross beam is more white than grey as standard so the "white" option was pretty pointless anyway. l've never seen one with the "extra white" cross beam.

No rattles or squeaks in my 2022 D250 and the engine is so quiet when started l've been asked by customers if it's electric.

There's no diesel clatter even when it's stone cold. l don't know how LR achieved this. And none of the usual diesel shudder when you start or stop the engine.
