Stockist for 110 Hardtop rear window motors install?
Before I pull the door cards off, has anyone installed window motors and switches for the rear doors?

I'd be interested to know what the overall cost was for anyone that's done this?

Wiring loom, motors, switches (drivers door switch included), window trim kits.

Probably never been done, but worth an ask before I get stuck in. Maybe a stockist somewhere sells the fullt kit?

[No I do not intend to dodge tax and fit rear seats to my van (before anyone pipes up). Everyone should pay tax.]

Cheers guys Thumbs Up

So: the window motors are in situ which is a bonus. No harness, but everything else is there.

With power applied to the motor the glass goes up and down perfectly, so it's going to be straightforward wiring a two-way switch to each door.

I spent far too long carefully picking at one of the plastic window covers but it's that brittle it still broke away in a few places. On the second plastic cover I just man-handled it off and snapped it in half with great satisfaction Very Happy

All I need to do now is call LR and ask for costs on the plastic trim kit, and wire the motors up the next weekend I have free.

Beware it is NOT just the case of a wiring harness (or two). It may need a third harness in the drivers door.
Then you will need a modified Body Control Unit and an update software (could be part of GAP IID) tool.

I did something similar on a Disco series 2 Commercial many years ago, well before 'ECU electrics, it was all relays as I remember. Cool

You could maybe get any extra parts from a breakers. The new Defender is starting to appear in salvage dealers.

I won't need to update software on such a simple circuit as it's going to be independant and not part of the vehicle harness.

I'll be running a power supply via a relay, and using a reverse polarity switch. I'll fit two independant rocker switches in the centre console. I don't need to replace the drivers door switch panel as I won't be using the existing windows circuit. Easy peasy.

You shouldn't refer to that as a bodge, old school would be more appropriate!
