Replacing Front Nose Panel
Has anyone successfully replaced the Front Nose panel without removing the entire wing?

SP states:
This is the main front skin part with no headlight backing box attached.
You can remove your old headlight box and swap onto the new panel using pop rivets

Looking for any guidance or tips before I attempt this.

Thanks!

Be aware that this panel is spot-welded to the main wing panel and replacing it is not particularly straightforward, particularly if you don't want it to look obviously replaced.

Provided that you are happy with rivets in place of spot-welds then it is probably possible without removing the wing, but you will certainly have to remove either the wing or the radiator panel to drill out the spot-welds, and since removing the wing is not particularly difficult you may as well bite the proverbial bullet.

Thank you for the feedback.

Do you happen to know where the spot welds are?

I can’t seem to find it anywhere and swapping this particular piece out seems to be the only defender video not available on YouTube.

Brilliant. Thanks for that.

I think I’ll just get the entire wing and replace, trying to manage all that in a confined space looks to be a massive headache.

Cheers!

It is really an easy job. I would bother replacing the entire wing, I used to do loads. Replace spot welds on inner face with countersunk m5 rivets. Drill out spot welds on headlamp mounting pressing, these can be replaced with countersunk rivets as all hidden behind headlamp plastic panel when fitted.

The wheelarch mounting panel can be bonded to new panel with sikaflex as this is the only panel where rivets would be visible.
