United Kingdom 2006 Defender 110 Td5 XS CSW Tonga Green
TD5 ABS Pump - yes a disco 2 one fits and works!
After a slightly annoying, and very expensive month.... I have my defender back on the road.

One of the issues (!) was a failure of the ABS pump due to corroision inside (it had history of fluid changes but clearly these were not done.... ) and the pump was beyond repair.

Mine is a 2006 TD5 XS but I believe the ABS pump is the same for any TD5 that has it and also the first Puma but obviously do check!

The garage couldn't find a reconditioned or pattern part available and LR have the ABS pump on back order and had no idea when it might be available again. They wouldn't fit a part that wasnt the right number but understood my issue that I had a 2 tonne garden ornament on my hands so I went down and fitted the pump and they did they rest!

So for anyone else in the same boat this is another post to say that YES the part number is one character different but the ABS pump from a disco 2 fits perfectly and works exactly the same! Ignore the sticker on the pump and plug the pipes in exactly as they were on the the defender pump.

I reckon the difference is part number is becuase the sticker is different!

Obviously do your own checking as well but its a solutuion! I wonder if LR will combine the part numbers anyway eventually? As I dug around on the manufactuers website and the defender specific part number was no longer listed.

I can confirm this is the case for a Td5 with ABD TC. Its a simple swap out, just ignore the label and refit the brake lines exactly where they were. Thumbs Up
